Road Accident Fund · Pretoria
Somebody else was driving.
You are the one paying for it.
That is what this firm is for. One call tells you whether you have a claim. It costs you nothing to ask, and nothing to find out you were right to.
Nobody tells you any of this at the scene. Not the police, not the hospital, not the man who took your number in the corridor.
So here it is, before you decide anything. What a claim is. How long you have. What it is worth. What it costs you to find out, which is nothing.
Start where you are
Four ways people arrive here.

The only part you cannot fix later
Three years. Then it is gone.
Three years from the day of the crash. Two if the driver was never found. After that no court can help you, however badly you were hurt and however clearly it was their fault.
Work out your dateWhat the money is for
It is not compensation for a bad day.
It is five separate claims with five separate rules. Most people who go it alone claim two of them and leave the largest one on the table.
The hospital bills
What has been spent already. Every account, including the ones the medical aid paid.
The wages you lost
From the day of the crash until the day this ends.
The work you can no longer do
This is usually the biggest part. It is also the part nobody claims properly.
What it still costs you
The Fund issues a certificate for future treatment. Not a cheque. It does not expire.
The pain
Only if the injury is assessed as serious. That is a real test and not a formality.

The part we will not dress up
This takes years, not months.
Eighteen months to four years. Anyone who promises you faster is guessing, and probably selling. What we can promise is that you will always know which part of it you are in.
Where the time actually goesWho answers
Two attorneys. No runners, no agents.
Nobody here pays for your file. If somebody found you in a ward and offered to handle it, that was not us, and it was not legal.

Ten minutes tells you where you stand.
If you do not have a claim we will say so on the call. You will have lost ten minutes and nothing else.
